June Strengthened Our Community
June was a month of momentum for Young Black & N’ Business (YB&NB). Throughout the month, our organization continued its mission of connecting entrepreneurs, professionals, nonprofit leaders, and community partners through education, visibility, and meaningful collaboration.

From publishing inspiring stories to participating in regional business events, June reflected the power of building relationships and creating opportunities that help businesses thrive throughout San Diego and beyond.
Elevating Business Leaders Through SDWEEKLY
One of the month’s highlights was our continued media partnership with SDWEEKLY, where we published and promoted stories featuring entrepreneurs, executives, nonprofit organizations, and community leaders making a positive impact.
These articles highlighted leadership, innovation, entrepreneurship, business development, and service while giving readers practical insight into the journeys behind successful organizations. Through this partnership, YB&NB continues to provide members with valuable visibility while celebrating individuals whose work strengthens the local business community.
We thank every featured leader who trusted us to share their story and inspire others.
Supporting the 6th Annual B.E.L.L. Business & Government Contracting Summit
June also included the successful 6th Annual B.E.L.L. Business & Government Contracting Summit, one of Southern California’s premier events focused on supplier diversity, government contracting, leadership, and business growth.

As a proud media partner, Young Black & N’ Business helped amplify the event through promotional campaigns, SDWEEKLY feature articles, community announcements, and digital marketing efforts leading up to the conference. We were honored to spotlight speakers, business leaders, and organizations dedicated to expanding access to government contracting opportunities and strengthening the regional business ecosystem.
A special highlight of this year’s summit was welcoming Roosevelt Williams, III, Founder of Young Black & N’ Business, as a featured guest speaker. During his presentation, Williams shared practical negotiating tactics and relationship-building strategies designed to help entrepreneurs create, close, and sustain successful business opportunities. His engaging session emphasized the importance of communication, trust, preparation, and long-term partnership development—skills that are essential for success in both government contracting and private-sector business.
The summit brought together entrepreneurs, public agencies, corporate partners, and industry experts committed to helping businesses build strategic relationships and compete for future contracting opportunities. We congratulate the B.E.L.L. team on another successful event and appreciate everyone who participated.
Honoring Juneteenth and Father’s Day
June also provided meaningful opportunities to celebrate both Juneteenth and Father’s Day.

Juneteenth reminded us of the importance of freedom, resilience, and economic empowerment while recognizing the lasting contributions of Black entrepreneurs and community leaders. Father’s Day allowed us to celebrate fathers, mentors, grandfathers, and father figures whose leadership continues to strengthen families, businesses, and communities alike.
These moments reflected the values that continue to define the Young Black & N’ Business community.
Continuing the Conversation Through the SDWEEKLY Master Mind
Throughout June, Young Black & N’ Business also facilitated the SDWEEKLY Master Mind discussion series. Hosted in partnership with SDWEEKLY, these conversations gave readers and business professionals the opportunity to continue discussions inspired by our featured articles.

Participants shared ideas, exchanged resources, asked thoughtful questions, and developed valuable professional relationships. The Master Mind has become an important extension of our editorial platform by transforming inspiring stories into interactive conversations that encourage learning, accountability, and collaboration.
Save the Date: BizCon 2026
As we close out June, we are excited to officially announce that BizCon 2026 will take place on Friday, October 9, 2026.

BizCon continues to serve as one of Young Black & N’ Business’s signature events, bringing together entrepreneurs, executives, nonprofit organizations, corporate partners, and community leaders for a full day of networking, education, collaboration, and business development. Additional information regarding speakers, exhibitors, sponsorship opportunities, and registration will be announced soon.
We encourage our members and supporters to save the date and prepare for another exciting opportunity to learn, connect, and grow.
Looking Ahead
June demonstrated the impact that collaboration can have on entrepreneurs and communities. As we move into the second half of 2026, Young Black & N’ Business remains committed to amplifying business voices, creating opportunities for meaningful connections, and supporting entrepreneurs through education, visibility, and strategic partnerships.
Thank you to every member, volunteer, sponsor, speaker, partner, and supporter who helped make June a memorable month. We look forward to continuing this momentum as we prepare for BizCon 2026 and the exciting opportunities that lie ahead.
